Happy Valentine’s Week everyone!! I hope all of your babies have got plenty of rest this weekend and are feeling better! You may begin sending valentine cards with your child tomorrow — please send them no later than Thursday! We will pass them out before Friday so they can look through them all during the party.

IMPORTANT DATES

— VALENTINE’S PARTY FRIDAY, February 14th // 11:30-12:30

This is not an early release day, but you may check your child out after the party! 😀

Wednesday, February 26th // PLC half day // students release @ 11:30

Spelling – no new spelling words this week! We will review all words throughout the week.

Reading/Writing – we will begin a unit on Author’s Purposeto persuade, to inform, to entertain. Each kiddo will bring one “special something” from home on Tuesday. We will use this “special something” to practice writing to persuade, writing to inform, and writing to entertain! ASSESSMENT THURSDAY

Math – we will begin a unit on telling time! This week we will learn and identify analog vs. digital clocks, the parts of a clock, and time to the hour (o’ clock). We will make our own clocks in class to use for the duration of this unit. BrainPopJr. has a great video for telling time to the hour with additional resources. Click here to access the video. TIME ASSESSMENT THURSDAY

Social Studies – we will learn about U.S. Symbols this week including the American Flag, the White House, the Statue of Liberty, the Bald Eagle, and Mt. Rushmore.

Please continue to read with your kiddo each night and have them complete their response in their journal! Graded paper folders will come home tomorrow — please keep their papers at home with you 🙂

If you have any questions/concerns please do not hesitate to contact me at any time! See you all on Friday!
