Week of December 9th
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Food drive this week benefitting White Oak Community Church food pantry and the backpack program!
- 20 “small somethings” due by Wednesday, December 18th
- Christmas party Friday, December 20th at 9
- Early release Friday, December 20th at 12:15
Spelling – some, them, would, other – spelling test Friday!
Phonics – vce words – this will carry over from last week! We learned about this by using the “magic E” that makes the vowel in the middle of the word say its name instead of its sound. You can practice this at home with words like tap –> tape, bit –> bite, etc.
Reading/Writing – continuing nonfiction texts and text features
Math – common assessment Monday, benchmark Thursday! We will use this week to review addition/subtraction, place value, comparing/ordering numbers, and problem solving strategies.
Social Studies – wants vs. needs – this will be a great time to discuss with students the difference in things that we want and things that we need in relation to Christmas lists and the spirit of giving 🙂
