Hi everyone! Wow I cannot believe it is already November!!! Your sweeties are learning and growing so quickly! We will be in our normal routine this week, thank goodness! So be looking for your child’s book bag each night and remember to have them answer their reading response in their journals.

Spelling: your, which, their, said — Spelling Test Friday!

Phonics: We will continue to work with s-blends — sm-, sk-, scr-, str- Assessment Thursday!

Writing: We will begin a whole class story based off of the book Turkey Trouble. As we discussed during parent conferences, we will really dive in to revising and editing this 9 weeks! We will practice this week whole group and during writer’s workshop.

Math: We will continue to work on place value — this week we will focus on using a 4-chart. Students have to write the number in standard form (24), expand the number (20 + 4) , draw the number (with tens and ones blocks), and write the number in written form (twenty four). Please practice this with your kiddo at home! If they have questions, make a note in their planner so I can make sure to address it during guided math. Place value assessment Friday!

Social Studies: We will do a unit and past and present by learning about Thanksgiving, pilgrims, the Mayflower, etc.

These next 3 weeks leading up to Thanksgiving break will be fast and furious! If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me!
